Entry #11: Final Blog Post

Blogging? 16 weeks ago, I didn't even know blogging exists until Professor Murphy introduced the idea of blogging to us on our first week of school. Today, I realized that I have been blogging for 16 weeks, something I thought I would never have the chance to do. Blogging has allowed me to do a lot of things. Blogging has taught me how to be me. Over the course of the semester, I have learned how to express myself though blogging. Whenever I have something I want others to know, I am able to do that through blogging. Today, I am not afraid to express my thoughts because of the numerous hours I spend blogging. Not only that, Blogging has allowed me to connect people like me. I met a lot of people by blogging just because they, too, are interested in this popular world called " Blogger." Furthermore, blogging allowed me along with the others to be fun and creative. As time passed, I started to see the true purpose behind Professor Murphy's idea of introducing Blogger to us. By blogging, I see so many students who have become professional bloggers. Through blogging, many have become expert. Who wouldn't want to blog, for blogging is THE place where an ordinary person can be seen by other; In the world of blogging, an ordinary is another word for extraordinary! So, Did I like blogging? My answer's no. Why? Because I LOVE blogging. I honestly took the blogging experience seriously through the course of the semester. One more thing I learned from blogging is that it will keep you busy once you get to know it well. Blogging is really useful because it will show a person what he or she is capable of doing. Blogging is useful because it will help users make a difference.
Thank You, professor, for everything and anything you've done for us. I learned so much from your class, and none of this would have been possible if it weren't for your love to teach. Thank you endlessly for your help. :)

Blog Entry #10: Here's a fact

In this video, Natalie really did explained what kind of is healthy for us and what is not healthy. She called them " Whole food vs. Processed Food." According to her video and facts, whole food is considered healthy where as processed food is UNHEALTHY. Processed food is not what we want to eat since it does not give us the nutrition's we need. People, stop feeding your tummy food that'll bring nightmares to your life. Give life a chance by eating the right thing.

Blog Entry #9: Pink Slime

Pink Slime?

Are we really ready to consume it after what Jamie Oliver have shown us? In his video, Jamie Oliver really did inform a vast majority of people about what's really behind 70% of the food everyone consumes. He demonstrated how " Pink Slime" is produced and the treatment it goes through in order for it to be safe for humans to consume. It really is AMAZING how he showed every bit of it. He also did scared the living crap out of so many people with his realistic example and demonstration.
Blog Entry #8.

            The Russian Revolution:
Before The first World War, a small Marxist group known as the Bolsheviks sough to change life in Russia though revolution. Bolsheviks were led by Vladimir Lenin. They represented the "proletariat"  or the industrial workers. And what was their goal? Their goal was to take power in the government system.

At the start of the war, Russia had an enormous army of 6 million soldiers but was ill-prepared. Russian factories were not able to produce the military supplies quickly enough for the army. The Russian nation also had a weak transportation system. Military equipment were outdated and Russian officers were advanced by personal connections rather than ability. As a result, millions of soldiers were wounded or killed during the war's early battles. On March 8, 1917 citizens of the Russian Capital took to the streets to protest lack of food. Czar Nicholas, the ruler of Russia at that time, loses control and abdicates on March 15th. In November 1917, armed Bolshevik factory workers called "the red guard" attacked the provisional government. After this struggle, Vladimir Lenin became the leader of Russia.
After the revolution, Russia's involvement in WW1 ended but they were forced to give up chunks of their empire.

Blog Entry # 7: Food, Inc

Two weeks ago, I watch Food, Inc. for the first time, and I had a lot of thoughts running through my head. Horrible. After seeing images of how the animals were being treated , all I could say was Horrible.

Food, Inc. had some valid points and some not so reasonable. I was surprised to see the truth about American food supply, and I have to admit that the movie really did revealed lots of facts. To me, almost all of the facts that the movie offered were  Shocking.
According to the movie, the average Americans eat over 200lbs of meat a year. The movie brought up that there were thousands of slaughter houses, producing the majority of beef sold, and that only 13 of them still stand today.
I didn't think the animals would be treated that badly, but I came to understand that all of it is true: the way the animals were treated, how they're grown, and what they're being fed. In this case, the way the chickens were place so closely to one another really did surprised me. I wonder if they'd even have enough air to consume.
I was also unaware that the average chicken farmers invest over $500,000, and makes only $18,000 a year.
The modern supermarket stocks 47,000 products on average, most of which are produced by only a handful of food companies.
In addition, diabetes rates were on the rise. The movie brought up that according to the American Diabetes Association, 1 in 3 American born after 2000 will contract early onset diabetes, and it was said that the rate will be 1 in 2. All of that from the food we eat. It is a truth that food borne illnesses are becoming epidemic, taking away many innocent lives. After watching the movie, the one thing that bothered me is the fact the INDUSTRY is trying to hide how the food we eat is being produced.

Blog Entry #5: A Dystopiean Society

This short clip from " Wall-E" gives up a short description of the unknown world that we're headed with the technology that is becoming more advanced than ever. The society in " Wall-E" has become a " Dystopiean" society. How?
Humanity don't have to do any work anymore. Everyone is obese, and they don't seem to have any concept of socialization. The human race is replying on machines, where as they should be relying on each other.
In addition, Interaction between one another, real communication, has been abandoned unfortunately. The world in " Wall-E" is filled with heavy trend of boredom.

In a way that society in " Wall-E" depend on those robots, I wonder what would happen if all the robots broke down all the sudden.
Everyone seems to be not working; therefore, what if there's no robot repair men among the society?
What would happened?
Technology may have helped the world become a better place, but it has also brought others negative impacts on society such as examples in the short clip above of " Wall-E."
