Blog Entry #3: Technology Today

"We're changing the world with technology."
--Bill Gates

It's simple, We live in a society dependent on technology. Ever wonder how many people in a country own a Smart Phone, or how many songs are being downloaded illegally? The above short video gives us a broad perspective on our everyday's use of technology. Technology have been a part of our lives for so long that we some times forget how it is effecting the world we live in.

This statistic shows that the average american spend more time listening to the radio, in this case 14%, than reading the magazines or the newspapers, which is only 6%.
In other words, the use of technology is blooming throughout the years.

Entry #2. The Economy Where We Live

Wendell Berry, an American novelist, poet, and environmental activist once claimed, " In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health's of one's own place and economy." That is to say it is essential for everyone to understand at least the basic operation of his/her nation's economy.

Have you ever thought about the economy where we live in?

In the economy where we live in, both producers and the government's decisions decide which goods and services are produced and how they are allocated. That economy is called " Mixed Economy." Mixed economy offer more freedoms than any other economies, such as command economy. For instance, it gives companies the freedom to make their own decisions, buy, sale, fire, hire as much as the need when necessary. One such example can be found in the United States today.

It also allows competitions between producers. In this case, two producers can make the same product and see which one gets more customers. However, when one loses enough customers, he can pair with the other producers or accepts that winner takes all.

And of course the government plays a huge role in our economy: to protect the public and to preserve private enterprise..

Entry #1. Why Blog?

Blogging:
Just like an anonymous once stated, " Things aren't always what they seem." This is me! Seems to me that almost everybody has blog nowadays, except me. I've never used blogger in my life before until I was introduced to it a few weeks ago by my English professor, and it's really hard for me to tell if I like blogging or not. However, after reading some of the top blogs from the top 50 bloggers blog, I feel like there's a whole new world out there that I want to be apart of- to share talents, to become a better writer, to live a more intentional life, to be well known by others, and to see blogging as a personal journal.

GORILLA VS. BEAR was one of the blogs that I enjoyed reading. It is mainly about music. Music has been a huge
part of our lives. That is why this blog is a good blog for all of us that like music!
“Music is important because it can describe people, places, movies, or animals that words can’t.  Without music, the world would have a hard time understanding other things.” – B. P.

However, the blog " The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs" was one of the blogs that I didn't really enjoyed reading since there's just a few hundred words without any persuasions. No background, no videos, no pictures, none whatsoever! I would say" It's incomplete!!"
